New Zealand Part 3: Taupo & Tongariro
New Zealand Part 2: Rotorua
We took a few pictures of this photographer on his adventure at the Wonderland. |
Everything was so bizarre. We saw an array of different colors, and of course lovely smells on our adventure. |
They even had mud pools mixed in! It is always bubbling, and can get really hot. |
Kerosene Creek was pretty cool. This was an area with a small waterfall, but we had never seen a running river with such hot water. If you dipped your foot in a wrong place, it would be way too hot! |
We went and visited Huka Falls, which is the most visited waterfall in New Zealand. It was really big, and has a lot of power & speed. I loved the colors of the water as well. |
They call it Huka Blue. & for good reason, it was so pretty! |
Tay and I just loved this girls expression getting a pic next to the waterfall. Classic. |
Isn’t this just insane?! This was my favorite part of the geothermal activity. I found it to seem like we were in a different world. This one is called Craters of the Moon. |
New Zealand Part 1: Hamilton & The Shire
This was our spot for a few hours waiting in the international wing of the LA airport. We had to snap a pic once we were out of that area. Classic! |
This is Taylor and his friend Luke. The Metekingi family was so nice and welcoming letting us stay with them at their house. They live super close to the LDS temple in Hamilton. Isn’t it pretty? |
This is Luke and Corbin’s daughter. As long as she could eat what I was eating, we were best friends. |
They even had a trampoline in the backyard. Had to document these crazy, brave little ones! |
Getting really excited to go see the shire! |
I really loved that this is a permanent sign at the shire. I like Lord of the Rings, but I didn’t realize how much fun it would be to see this kind of stuff in person. It was really cool! |
That bridge is the famous bridge that Gandolf rides over in the movie. I believe it is the first LOTR? Don’t quote me on that. |
My favorite photo of the sheep. Way too cute in the rain. |
Butternut Squash Pizza
I absolutely love pizza in the summer. It is not summer yet, but I think it is warm enough to turn the grill on outside. My favorite way to cook pizza is on the grill. It ends up being slightly charred on the bottom, crunchy, bubbly, and thin pizza!
Grilling Pizza Dough:
I first roll my pizza dough out as thin as I can. I usually aim for a triangular shape, and then I put the pizza dough on the backside of a cookie sheet. Before I put it on the grill I lightly brush on some olive oil.
These cook fast, so your grill can definitely be on high.
After it bubbles up and cooks for a few minutes, I flip over the pizza dough and add olive oil to the top side (for this application, you want more olive oil on so that there is moisture to the pizza, this is also super applicable if the olive oil is being used as your only sauce).
For this pizza, here are the ingredients:
Favorite pizza dough. I like this one here.
Package of Prosciutto
1 Roasted Butternut Squash
1 Yellow Onion
1/2 Red Onion
(both onions caramelized)
Pine Nuts
Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
Smoked Gouda Cheese
I found this recipe from here. She has a lot of pizza recipes so I would go check out her site.
Our Thailand Trip in Video form
So, I know we went on this trip in may, but I finally finished this little family video when we were in Thailand. Now, I am no professional videographer, so take with it what you will. & the shakiness of some parts just adds to the family video feel right? Enjoy!
