I absolutely love pizza in the summer. It is not summer yet, but I think it is warm enough to turn the grill on outside. My favorite way to cook pizza is on the grill. It ends up being slightly charred on the bottom, crunchy, bubbly, and thin pizza!
Grilling Pizza Dough:
I first roll my pizza dough out as thin as I can. I usually aim for a triangular shape, and then I put the pizza dough on the backside of a cookie sheet. Before I put it on the grill I lightly brush on some olive oil.
These cook fast, so your grill can definitely be on high.
After it bubbles up and cooks for a few minutes, I flip over the pizza dough and add olive oil to the top side (for this application, you want more olive oil on so that there is moisture to the pizza, this is also super applicable if the olive oil is being used as your only sauce).
For this pizza, here are the ingredients:
Favorite pizza dough. I like this one here.
Package of Prosciutto
1 Roasted Butternut Squash
1 Yellow Onion
1/2 Red Onion
(both onions caramelized)
Pine Nuts
Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
Smoked Gouda Cheese
I found this recipe from here. She has a lot of pizza recipes so I would go check out her site.
