A year ago Today.

 Looking back.  A year ago today….a year? Time really goes by fast. 
 I remember the day well. 
 I was missing Taylor like crazy, we had only gone a month and a half without seeing each other, but for some reason we had missed each other a lot more than his months in Brazil over the summer.  I was so excited and nervous to see him.  
We had no cell phones, and I remember sending him a message to just go towards the tube once he got off the train.  We met at Victoria station.  I had no idea Victoria station was so big. 
When I got there I thought it would be impossible to find him.  I wandered around looking for him, and luckily he found me. 
You know the feeling when you are away from someone physically for so long their voice, and physical body seems foreign to you? Well that was how it was for only a few minutes.  I think that happens when you are so happy to be back with someone it doesn’t feel like reality. 
This is the day Taylor proposed.  
We walked over to Hyde Park, it was in the morning, fresh morning air, beautiful green everywhere, and everyone around us was walking their dog, playing with their dog, biking, and so forth.  It was so peaceful.  We sate down and talked once we got to a more confined area, we caught up for a little bit and just spent time together.  
After that, he told me he had something for me.  He pulled out this big black binder.  He told me I had to read every page before the next.  I agreed.
As I opened the book, he had scrapbooked our lives together from the time we started dating.  He had matted all the pictures, and put in really cute, funny memories about all the pictures.  It was really long too.  It must have taken him months to make.  I remember I thought how nice it was of him that he missed me so much.  I had no idea he was proposing.  I am a spoiled girl in the fact that these nice gestures come often.  At the end of the scrapbook he had written out a poem just for me.  I knew it had taken a lot of time. I was so grateful. 
By the end of the page I looked up and he was on one knee, I stood up, he asked me to marry him, and the tears were rolling down my cheeks by then.  I was so happy.  It was a perfect weekend in London, and it all started in Hyde Park.
Hyde Park, is my favorite park for many reasons.
1. Endless bike rides.
2. Long walks in the park with great conversations have occurred with friends, Taylor, and my family.  Isn’t that so cool? I cherish those moments.
3. This is where Taylor proposed. We spent most of our evenings in Hyde Park while he was visiting. Sitting by the pond and watching the Swans at sunset was pretty legit too.
4. I lived just a few minutes from this park, and it is the biggest park I have been in that I can consider my park. 

I am just so grateful we had the opportunity to travel together, and I will always be grateful for the time we had together.  We learned a lot. Grew, and my friend took some fabulous pictures of us in Europe.  I am so grateful for the emails we shared, and the ways we grew when we were not with each other physically.

Taylor went through some of the hardest timess while he was in Portugal by himself, and it was hard not being able to be with him. Through all that we grew closer together, and learned how to treat and love one another on a greater level.  I am so grateful for the wonderful/growing experiences we have already shared together, and look forward to more of both in the future! I  am so grateful I have married an equal partner who strives to put myself before him, and always knows when I need a little bit of extra help, confidence, and positive support.

Getting Dirty.

As you can see, we had a little too much fun over labor day weekend.  
We found ourselves in the country of Cache Valley playing in the mud and smelling manure the whole time…oh it was lovely wading through trenches of manure. 
 Yes. Manure. 
 It was so fun though! Below are some pictures that were taken for FREE.

What kind of race gives you pictures for free? Sign me up for every race! 
When Taylor and I were going down the slide as you will see I was fighting for my life.  I was heading off the slide, and almost ran into a big mud pile.  You can see me fighting for my life in those pictures, and those ones are my favorite.
I look ridiculous.

Disclaimer: If you go on a mud run yourself, just know in advance you will have to take a few showers for your hair to even remotely feel normal again.



Easy Alfredo: For when you really only have 30 minutes.

* Sauce
1 C Milk
1/4 tsp. Pepper
3 T Butter
1 T Flour
1/4 tsp. Salt                                                                                                                                               

1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder

1. In a heavy sauce pan, melt the butter remove from heat.
2. Blend in the flour, salt, and garlic powder 
3. Add the milk all at once. 
4. Return to heat
5. Cook over medium heat, stirring continually.
6. Cook until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
7. Then cook stirring constantly 1 minutes more.
** Remove from heat
  1. Add  2 oz Cream Cheese ( Cut in small pieces)
        Mix with a wire whisk until smooth
  2. Add 1/3 cup Fresh Parmesan cheese
         Stir constantly, until the cheese melts.                
  3.  Add Sauce to prepared noodle. Stir gentle and Serve.

Work hard to Play hard.

We had a much needed fun-filled weekend.  I think because our weeks are very long and we work very hard the whole time, we use the weekend to play hard as much as we can.

 Touchdown!
Hot. Fresh. Churro.  Coming up!
 After the game, we headed up to Salt Lake City for the Brazilian festival.  We had way too much fun.  A lot of dancing, and eating to say the least.  Pictured aboce is a caramel cream filled churro: Brazilian style.  Best churro I have ever had.  If you haven’t had one, you have not had a good churro.
I don’t think I can have a regular churro and enjoy after having one this good.  

  Brazilian Lemonade is really good too.  We also made up a drink using half the lemonade with Guarana. It was refreshing and satisfying. I love lemonade on a hot day.

 Sometimes Taylor takes on a whole new personality.  He makes me laugh when he is being silly.

 We met Miss Brasil. She knew how to dance, as well as every other Brazilian that came to this Brazilian Fest.

Labor day = Labor free

I love the fact, that when a weekend comes along I do not have to go to work all day and night.  Thanks to marrying a man that has a normal schedule, I had to get myself a job that was a little less hard on my body, and where I was not working every day.  No more restaurant business for me, and I like it.

This holiday weekend was a fun one.

To highlight:  We made caramel popcorn, and I will never go back to buying caramel. It is way too good making it from scratch.  I do not even like caramel popcorn and we made 5 quarts of popcorn only to be gone in less than 24 hours.

Anita also learned that Caramel and Carmel are the same word, and should always be spelled C-A-R-A-M-E-L.  With so much information in this world, I am grateful when other people do not know obvious things too.  I can be just as blonde!

Daran got a puppy.  Dmar loves him. His name is Kody.

Dmar dressed up in his lion costume, and for a second Taylor thought he was an actual animal. We all thought he wouldn’t be fooling anyone, but he is pretty good at acting the part of an animal.

Dmar told Taylor, Anita, and I that we were all beautiful/handsome.  He is the sweetest little boy.

When asking if a game is easy, he will reply it is easy for him.

We played Wii sports with Dmar, and every single time we all played he was so supportive of how we were doing.  I need to be more like him.  He was so involved when it was anyone’s turn, and always said, “You were so close”
I am amazed by Dmar’s sentences.  He is only five years old, but he says things so well. Example: “That was really fun wasn’t it?” Is that normal?

His first week of school was last week,  he has a break from the weekend and holiday, but I can tell he thought he would be done with school for a while.  It is cute, how he told us he wouldn’t have to go back for a while.  Little does he know!

Marietta and Marshall made doughnuts with their recipe book they got from their wedding! Thanks for sharing!

Quick trip to San Fran

We took a little trip to San Francisco before school started, to see Taylor’s family.  This was my first sight of the lovely Bridge.  I love the fog.  I don’t know why, but I have always had a thing for fog.  It makes me happy. 
And if anyone wants to know.  My favorite Chinese restaurant ever is House of Nanking.  Get the lettuce wraps.  You will be pleased.

 We went sailing my first day in San Francisco.  I think Taylor was meant to be a sailor.  I probably took way too many pictures, but here they are!

 John is the one who got it together for us to go.  This was my favorite part of our trip.  If john could live on a sailboat for the rest of his life, I think he would do it.

Such a great trip! My favorite parts from it, are driving around in a huge denali so that every time we needed to stop somewhere it was impossible to find a parking place. Taylor’s dad almost ran a few pedestrians over, he does not know what it means that people always have the right of way: especially on a crosswalk.
See you soon San Francisco.  Loved the sailing ride around Angel Island, Alcatraz, and of course the Golden Gate.
